Nurse Practitioner
MNurs (Hons), PGDip Health Sci, BSc (Hons), RN/Dip HE.
Hi there! I'm Barry,
I was born and raised in the UK and trained at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, qualifying in 1997. I spent over 8 years in intensive care in Cambridge and London before moving to New Zealand in 2005. In New Zealand, I earned my Master’s degree from the University of Auckland and became a registered Nurse Practitioner in 2018.
Running, tramping, listening to music, and travelling to exotic locations are my favorite pastimes: staying healthy is key to enjoying them. You'll often find me training for an Ultramarathon, or doing one. I know these aren't for everyone, but I'm happy to share tips if you're thinking of it. I beleive strongly in nurturing ones body with good habits like eating the right food, exercising regularly, and managing stress. These are key to reaching our goals. I’m passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives, inspired by years of working closely with clients and their families, and I look forward to working with you to help you reach your full potential.
